2K Games has released a new trailer for its upcoming tactical shooter—The Bureau: XCOM Declassified. The trailer shows a bit of gameplay and gives an example of some of the things that players will be able to pull off in-game, such as advanced tactical decisions.
It also gives a good look at the interface. Developer 2K Marin has opted for a radial interface so as to make the game work better with controllers in mind. The radial menu essentially pauses the game and lets the player make tactical decisions such as laying mines, using psychic abilities or straight-out shooting things. Check out the trailer:
Just recently, Take-Two Games’ distributor in India, e-Xpress Interactive, had announced that the game will be making its way to Indian stores on August 23. The game will cost Rs 2,499 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, while the PC version will cost Rs 999.
The game will tell us all about the origin of the XCOM organisation. It is set in 1962 in the midst of the Cold War. The story revolves around an organisation called The Bureau that was created to deal with the Soviet Union, and then turned into a group that would take on the alien threat.
The protagonist is special agent William Carter, who, much like the Men In Black, fights against an alien invasion and has to keep the common populace in the dark. The gameplay itself revolves around commanding a squad of soldiers in real time. Similarities can be drawn between The Bureau and the classic Full Spectrum Warrior.
