L.A. Noire Trailer Impresses

After being in development hibernation for a while now, Rockstar finally blew the lid open on their crime simulator, L.A. Noire and it looks mighty impressive. While the trailer’s a bit low on the action, the game looks really nice and lip synching in particular is bang on.

Put your detective skills to the test with L.A. Noire

In case you haven’t been following this game for a while now, L.A. Noire is an action adventure set in Los Angeles during the forties. Players step into the boots of a beat up cop called Cole Phelps who must solve a spate of crimes using his detective skills. This will basically revolve around three gameplay elements - “investigations, interviews and interrogations.” Unlike Rockstar’s previous GTA games, players can’t just roam around the city shooting or killing stuff since you’re a cop and all.

What I find most interesting is that while interrogating perps you’ll actually have to determine their honesty/deceit by studying their facial animations, which we hear are the best in the business.

L.A. Noir will release sometime in 2011 for the Xbox360 and PS3.

Nash, as he prefers being called, woke up to the wonders of gaming rather late but don't bring that up around him. It's a touchy subject. A self confessed Battlefield veteran, Nash spent a good part of 2010 on the Steam Battlefield - with Bad Company (see what we did there?). He has a zero tolerance policy towards RTS games but is currently showing an interest by picking up and moving people - who he refers to as units - in the office. Thank God he's not that enthusiastic about Angry Birds or we'd be seeing women flying all over the place. Bali... Bali, put the receptionist down now.
