Konami starts survey to gauge interest in Metal Gear Rising sequel

Konami seems to be gauging how much fans would like a sequel to this year’s hack-and-slash action game Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. The company has started a survey that asks a number of questions, mostly about the Metal Gear franchise and Platinum Games.

It is quite a long survey and will last for about twenty minutes. The survey also asks what fans would like from a new Metal Gear Rising game, with options including more human enemies, an online multiplayer mode and a different protagonist than Raiden.

STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD

Previously, both series creator Hideo Kojima as well as Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance producer Yuji Korekado have shown interest in making a possible sequel for the game, but only if Platinum Games is the studio that will develop it.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is set in the near future, where cyborg technology has become commonplace throughout society. Three years have passed since the collapse of the Patriots system, which has been secretly controlling the global power balance from the shadows. However, peace remains elusive. The dissemination of cybernetic technology has triggered instability and conflict as those who control the trade gain power.

Back in June, Konami had officially announced that Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance would be making its way to the PC through digital distribution platforms. However, no price or release date has been revealed so far. Currently, the game is available on the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360.

Don’t forget to check out our review of the PS3 version of the game and our look at the legacy of Metal Gear Solid.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
