Did you know? Robin Williams was an avid video gamer

Robin Williams, renowned for his acting and comic timing, would spend long hours playing video games. So much so, that he even named his daughter, Zelda Williams, after his favourite game: The Legend of Zelda. As a tribute to his love for video games, the late actor will become a character in the online role-playing game World of Warcraft. He will feature as a character that can’t be controlled by players within the game, states UK tabloid Daily Mirror.

Blizzard Games announced the virtual tribute after an online petition requesting the mark of respect amassed 10,975 signatures.

Take a look at the tweet from World of Warcraft's official Twitter handle:

Williams had immense love for vfideo games and even named his daughter after the princess in Nintendo’s “The Legend of Zelda.” The chemistry between the two was quite evident in the series of promotional advertisements they did together for Nintendo.

"In interviews to promote his projects, Williams would often talk about his love for videogames, which began with 'Zelda,' and also included fantasy fare like Blizzard Entertainment’s 'World of Warcraft,' puzzle games like 'Portal,' sci-fi shooters like 'Half-Life' and its sequel and more recent military actioners like Activision’s 'Call of Duty' franchise, calling it cyber cocaine," reports Variety.
