Kaspersky Kids programme to help Indian students learn safe surfing habits

One of the world’s leading security software companies, Kaspersky Labs has launched an awareness-centric programme targetted at kids who are getting online.   The Kaspersky Kids programme has been launched in association with schools who will make internet security and safe browsing a clear agenda for students. The prorgamme also includes Kaspersky Daily, a blog aimed at parents, an online newsletter for the students and children, as well as training modules for the school’s teachers to base their curriculum on. It will also include and on-ground engagement events and contests, geared towards highlighting security issues online.   Kaspersky launched the programme with Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar, who is also the brands’ ambassador in India. Kids who have signed up for the programme have the chance to winning memorabilia signed by Tendulkar in contests and other events.   [caption id=“attachment_227873” align=“alignnone” width=“640”] ![Founder Eugene Kaspersky and Sachin Tendulkar pose with the Kaspersky Kids mascot at the Mumbai event](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/Kaspersky-Kids-Mascot-Green.jpg) Founder Eugene Kaspersky and Sachin Tendulkar pose with the Kaspersky Kids mascot at the Mumbai event[/caption]   Kaspersky’s research showed that almost half of all minors in India have at some point attempted to browse pornography, which exposes them to more risks online. Ryan International Group of Schools is one of the launch partners and the group will give access to Kaspersky’s special programme to all their students across 16 states and 40 cities.   Kaspersky Labs plans to team up with the top 50 schools in the country by year end and communicate to students safe surfing techniques, as well as suspicious patterns to avoid threats and viruses. Kaspersky aims to reach more than one million students through the programme by next year.
