After Micromax and Spice, Karbonn has now announced to bring the latest Android iteration to its budget smartphone. The company has announced that the Sparkle V Android One smartphone will receive Android 5.1 Lollipop update. In a press statement, Karbonn Mobiles revealed that Android 5.1 Lollipop will be available as an OTA (over-the-air) update. Users can also get the device upgraded at Karbonn service centres. To download the update, users can head to Settings > About phone > Software update on their smartphone. Last year in September, Google had announced a trio of phones under the Android One initiative in India in the form of the Spice Dream UNO Mi-498, Karbonn Sparkle V and Micromax Canvas A1. As promised, all three devices have now received the latest software updates. They come with a similar set of specs. The Sparkle V sports a 4.5-inch display featuring 480 x 854 pixels of resolution. The device comes powered by a MediaTek SoC with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor and Mali 400 GPU paired with 1GB of RAM. On the camera front, expect a 5MP rear snapper and a 2MP frontfacing camera for those selfies and video conferencing. When it comes to connectivity, the devices cover it all from Wi-Fi and 3G to GPS and Bluetooth. The 4GB internal memory is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card slot. All of this is fuelled by a 1700 mAh battery. Here’s our first **impressions** of the Karbonn Sparkle V.
