Looks like Karbonn is prepping up for the launch of yet another budget smartphone. The Karbonn A91 has come up on an e-commerce website with a price tag of Rs 4,490, but with no information about its availability. An online listing normally hints at imminent launch of the phone, as we have seen in the past. Despite the low price, the Karbonn A91 runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out-of-the-box, which is not Android 4.4 KitKat, but operation should be quite smooth nevertheless. As is usual in this category, it’s a dual-SIM (GSM+GSM) smartphone. The A91 features a 3.9-inch display with a resolution of 480x800 pixels, which sounds decent enough for this screen size. It also gets a 1.3GHz dual-core processor (unspecified chipset, but we’d put our money on it being **the MT6572 from MediaTek** ) along with 256MB of RAM. We have become used to seeing this combo in the sub-Rs 5,000 segment. The smartphone comes with a 3.2-megapixel rear camera and houses a 0.3-megapixel front camera. The measly 512MB of inbuilt storage can be further expanded up to 32GB via the microSD card slot. The A91 packs a 1500mAh battery, which sounds just about good enough considering the rest of the hardware. Connectivity options include the usuals such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPRS, and a Micro-USB port.
