Local search company Justdial has added online food delivery to the services it provides. While the service isn’t immediately searchable on their main website, you can check it out here. The service is currently live inMumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Coimbatore, Delhi, Faridabad, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Howrah, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Noida.
A customer must first select a restaurant in their neighbourhood, After clicking the option to ‘Order Food’, you will be redirected to the restaurant’s menu. After selecting your items, you are given the option of delivery time (ranging from ‘Right now’ to six days later).
It’s not clear whether Justdial will be carrying out the delivery itself, or whether that will be taken care of by the restaurants. In the case of other online food delivery services (such as Just Eat), the restaurant delivers the food.

Justdial is primarily an online and telephone business listings service. But over the past year, since it started offering its Initial Public Offering (IPO) in 2012, the company has expanded its base with targeted marketing campaigns, selling ‘structured data’ to businesses and mobile apps.
News first broke on Techcircle.in in March 2013 that the company was in the process of finalising deals with restaurant chains. Back then, the information website was apparently in talks with only one restaurant chain. Previous to that, the company had also tied up with Bookurtable.com, which would allow users to make restaurant reservations.
Online food delivery services in India have burgeoned over the past couple of years. The major food services are Just Eat and Foodpanda, the latter of which is backed by Rocket Internet. Other services are city-specific; such as BigBite.in which serves in Delhi and the NCR region. Deliverychef.in offers food delivery services in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Pune.
Justdial’s layout seems to be very basic right now, and if they want to keep up with the competition, they will have to roll out the coupons, special offers and discounts that are par for the course for other online food delivery services.
