We are just a few hours away from Google's big event. Along with the all-new Pixel devices, the stage time will be shared by Google Home, the company's competitor to Amazon's Alexa powered Echo connected speakers.
In short, crisp ads, Amazon is trying to show how Alexa can be your saviour during household chores, and probably also during a breakup.
The new ad campaign called Alexa Moments will feature over 100 different spots in rotation over the next few months, explains MarketingLand.
The ad campaign aimed at showing how Alexa fits into everyday lives. These ads will be made available on TV and digital platforms. The sudden rush to highlight its voice enabled connected speakers come just ahead of the launch of the Google Home. Already, a lot is being said and written about how the two companies will go head on in this space.
Google Home, just like Echo, is a Wi-Fi speaker that works as a control centre for your home and your voice will be the remote control. Google also went ahead and announced Google Assistant, which is also a Siri-like bot akin to Alexa, taking cues from Google Now. Users can set alarms, manage to-do list, connect smart home, home networking syncing, Nest devices and so on. Further in the future it will be able to control stuff outside your homes – opening garage doors, ordering flowers, etc, something just like these Alexa ads are offering.
With the official Home launch just hours away, we will soon know who will rule this space.
