iPhone 7 Plus dual-lens camera component, 256GB memory chip leak

Apple is expected announce a brand new series of iPhones later this year and as usual the rumours and leaks have started to pour in anticipation of the new smartphones. The latest leak are a couple of components which are said to be of the upcoming iPhone 7 Plus and both of them sound totally new for Apple.

We’ve already heard a bunch of rumours pointing out that the iPhone 7 Plus could get a dual-lens camera setup similar to the LG G5 and Huawei P9 . Thanks to the latest leak sourced by Weibo from a tweet by Steven Hemmerstoffer, we now have more hard evidence as a camera module with a dual-lens has emerged. Nobody knows how Apple would utilise this arrangement of lenses but expectations are going to be high as the last two versions of the iPhone have been a bit dry and well, Apple was hit by its first ever drop in sales earlier this year.

Apart from the camera module, the memory chips for the upcoming smartphone have also surfaced comprising of 16GB, 64GB and the first ever 256GB. Now considering that Apple finally brought in 4K video recording last year on the iPhone 6S and 6S Plus, a 256GB variant makes sense, but a 16GB memory option? Sounds really strange. To be honest it’s not just photographs or videos, we are consuming more data on our smartphones than ever before and offering a fixed 16GB storage option doesn’t make a lot of sense, maybe bring the 32GB version back in action?

Some of the previous rumours say that Apple will be using a laser auto-focus system in the regular 4.7-inch iPhone 7 and that there will be an iPhone 7 Pro that will have the same smart connectors like the new iPads, to accommodate a keyboard or maybe a brand new accessory. But then these are all rumours and leaks, so let’s take all of this with a pinch of salt.
