iPhone 7 launch: Apple to discontinue iPhone 5s, 6 and 6 Plus in India?

The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus were finally launched and we also have the India launch date and price . Apart from those looking to upgrade to the new device, there are others who have been waiting for a price drop on the older devices, including the 2 year old iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. However, Apple has ensured that there are a significant number of people looking forward to the new devices, and not for the older ones. The company is believed to have discontinued the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus. This piece of news came to light after Apple removed the iPhone 5s, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus from its family of devices, including the Apple India website. Clearly, hinting at its intentions to discontinue the devices. However, another report points out that Apple may have pulled off the devices from the site, but will continue to sell in retail stores. ![iphones001](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/iphones001.png) While many tech enthusiasts and even analysts believed that there is a large iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus user base that should be ready to upgrade to the new iPhone 7, there are others who were waiting for older iPhones to get even cheaper. It would also mean iPhone users are left with five official iPhone models — iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus  and the iPhone SE. Maybe that was always the plan! So, those who thought the iPhone 6 is a better deal than the iPhone SE, will have no choice but to opt for the latter, especially in markets like India. Now, the discontinuation of iPhone 5s was expected, but dumping even the iPhone 6 handsets has surprised many. Many analysts predict that the two year old iPhone 6 user base will opt to upgrade, while those with the iPhone 6s might wait for next year. The iPhone 7 models this year, weren’t as exciting as last year’s, and many features were borrowed from Android devices. If you’re thinking about upgrading, however, here are some of the **coolest features of the iPhone 7** .
