Apple launched iOS 9 on Wednesday, with a number of changes and enhancements to the new OS. According to the update, as of 8 AM IST Friday, the new OS had been installed on 18 percent of eligible devices. It seems like iOS 9’s download rate is driven largely by customers who wish to welcome improvements as compared to the old iOS 8.

One of the best features about the new OS is that, the update requires 1.3GB of free space, which is less than a third of iOS 8’s requirement of 4.58GB. Users will not have to worry about emptying up that much space from their devices to update to the new OS.

iOS 9,  available as a free update for device generations starting with the Phone 4S and the iPad 2, is said to be all about stability, fewer bugs and battery problems. Unfortunately, a few Apple users have encountered a few issues while upgrading to iOS 9 as well.
