Intex introduces IRist Android smartwatch at Rs 11,999 in India

Intex today announced its foray into the wearable segment with the launch of a smartwatch under the name of ‘IRist’ which is exclusively on ebay at a price of Rs 11,999. The device is available in Black, Pink and Orange colour variants.

Intex introduces IRist Android smartwatch at Rs 11,999 in India

Intex today announced its foray into the wearable segment with the launch of a smartwatch under the name of ‘IRist’ which is exclusively available on ebay at Rs 11,999. The device is available in Black, Pink and Orange colour variants. The device was announced at MWC Shanghai and brings about features which are present on a smartphone such as in-built 3G SIM support that enables the user to make/receive calls. Also, the IRist includes an app called iConnect that syncs with the user’s smartphone, offering information on missed calls, unread messages and call logs as well. ![iRist_Pink](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/iRist_Pink.jpg) In other features, the IRist includes a feature called the voice assistant that sends emails, messages, dial numbers, opens and closes apps at the command of the user’s voice. A fully functional keyboard further adds to ease of use. Also, the smartwatch comes with a Bluetooth headset that can be unplugged to take calls or listen to music. In terms of specifications, the IRist has a clear 240 x 240 resolution that reproduces 16 million colours. It also comes built in with a 5MP camera along with a face detection feature. The smartwatch is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor which runs on Android KitKat 4.4.2 with access to the Google Play Store. It is also paired with a 512MB RAM. ![iRist_Black](http://tech.firstpost.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/iRist_Black.jpg) In includes a storage capacity of 4GB ROM which can be further expanded up to 32GB. The smartwatch also has a 600mAh battery, with a standby time of up to 200 hours and a talk time of up to 4 hours, as claimed by Intex. Also, the watch is GPS navigation enabled and includes an in-built pedometer which helps users keep track of every step taken and measures every calorie shed as well. Commenting on the launch, Mr. Keshav Bansal, Director, Intex Technologies said, “We are stepping into a new era of innovation with the launch of the IRist. Today through this platform we have established our brand as a global dimensional entity that believes in bringing the best in class technology through its products. With the announcement of this new wearable by Intex, we are introducing a different category of products to our audience.” He added, “We aim at taking home the advanced technology by our brand in order to familiarise the masses with the feature rich products which add convenience to their lives. We have always believed in improving the quality of life of people by empowering them with latest technological products at affordable price.”
