Intex has announced the Aqua Supreme+ smartphone in India. The entry-level device will sell for Rs 9,490 at retail stores around the country.
The new smartphone features a 5-inch HD IPS display, a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MTK 6737 processor, a 13MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and the option to expand the storage by 128GB using a microSD card.
The battery is a 3,000mAh unit.
The device apparently uses Intex’ in-house ‘Value Added Services’ (VAS) that will apparently “enhance the smartphone functionality, user engagement applications and usefulness of smartphone apps.”
The keyboard apparently features something called “Indus Swipe” that will help translate text to and from English from any supported regional language.
An app called Indus Reader will help with text-to-speech conversion. Intex claims that this its first “multilingual smartphone”.
Ms Nidhi Markanday, Director and Business Head, Intex Technologies said in a statement, “We, at Intex, are committed to innovation and bringing the best technology to our customers. In partnership with Indus OS, Aqua Supreme+ is a breakthrough for it being the first ever multilingual 4G VoLTE smartphone for regional users.”
