Intel to Announce 10 New Tablets

The tablet market has further opened up with Intel also entering the foray. The global technology giants are set to introduce ten new tablets at by the end of the month. These tablets will run on Intel’s own chips at Taiwan’s computer trade show Computex.

According to reports, these tablets will run on Android, Meego and Windows versions. Intel is said to be launching a new set of chips supposedly named Oak Trail which is designed for tablet style devices.

Navin Shenoy, Intel’s general manager of Asia Pacific region said that more than 35 of Intel’s chip-based tablet models are on track to be shipped through the year. He went on to say that Intel didn’t expect any impact from the Japanese earthquake in March on demand for PCs in the second quarter and that the disaster has had no impact on the company’s supply chain.
