Now that the dust has settled after the launches and announcements at CES 2011 about NVIDIA’s Tegra 2 powered devices, Intel decided it was time to show their prototype of a phone powered by an Atom SoC codenamed Medfield.

Intel hopes to take on ARM with their Medfield SoC

There’s no clarity on which vendor will be making this phone but rumours suggest that it might be Nokia with their N9 model powered by the MeeGo OS. Intel hasn’t said much but one thing’s for sure - the Medfield devices will only hit the market sometime in 2011 - 2012.
