Instagram announced that it will soon roll out video carousel ads, a move that will let advertisers share up to five separate videos with one single ad purchase. Each video can be up to 60 seconds long. According to Re/code, the change aligns with Instagram’s conscious push into video more broadly, a strategy reminiscent of Facebook’s video push a few years back. Currently, the Carousel ads feature lets brands post multiple images, which users can scroll through by swiping their finger across the phone’s screen. These new video ads are now in beta and will roll out to all advertisers in the “coming weeks,” reportedly according to a company spokesperson. The report points out that Instagram is adding video features and making video more prominent in search, hoping users will watch more of it. Instagram recently allowed users to record longer, 60-second clips, compared to the 15-seconds clips that we were limited to so far. Instagram is also going to offer a more personalised feed to its users. As Facebook-owned Instagram has grown at great speeds through the years, it has become harder to keep a track of all the photos and videos shared on the platform. To improve the user experience, the Instagram feed will soon be ordered to show the moments one cares about the most.
