Mark Zuckerberg has some trouble on his hands. Post Facebook’s website and iOS application facing issues late last week, Instagram went down on Sunday, causing users to turn to social networking websites to express their agitation.
Early Sunday morning saw Instagram users take to Twitter to figure out if they were the only ones who were unable to access their feeds. It looked like it wasn’t just the applications on iOS and Android but even the website itself that was inaccessible during the brief downtime.
The Next Web reports that Instagram had acknowledged that it had been facing issues with its system on Twitter, but surprisingly the tweet looks like it has been deleted since then. It apparently read, “We’re currently having system issues. We are aware of the problem and are working hard to resolve it. Thank you for your patience!” The issue got fixed later in the day and remains stable as of now with no more disruptions noted. What’s odd about this is the fact that the tweet explaining that there were service issues seems to have been pulled off by Instagram.

On Friday it had been reported that users were being unable to access profiles on the desktop version of Instagram’s parent company, Facebook. Thankfully, the issue did not last long and was fixed by Facebook promptly. While many users seemed unaffected by the outage, other users trying to access profile pages belonging to friends were faced with an error message that showed that they were temporarily unavailable. “Sorry, but this page didn’t load properly,” the error message read. “Please try again.”
Even though Facebook acknowledged the issue and said that it had resolved the problems, users were reported expressing their inability to download an update for the iOS version of the application. The problem was noted prominently on iPhones running iOS 7. Though it seems to have been fixed for most users who say that the app was updated after multiple tries, some users are still unable to update Facebook for iOS.
