Instagram adds phrases sticker pack, hashtag and location stories, and tests archiving feature

Close on the heels of introducing **Face Filters in the style of Snapchat** , Instagram has introduced two additional features. The sticker pack has a menu full of colorful representations of commonly used phrases. After triggering the camera in the Stories menu, the stickers can be added to photos and videos. A user can add many layers of stickers onto a single photo or video. The stickers can be used in combination with the new Face Filters. There are stickers for time, date, temperature and day of the week as well.  The Stories section now displays Stories from the location you are in. Users can also search for any location and find Stories for that location. On searching for a hashtag, users will see a Stories ring with stories using that hashtag. The functionality allows users to search for Stories according to interests. Users have to use the hashtag or location stickers for the Stories to appear in the Stories ring or the Hashtag ring. The stickers for hashtags, Stories or phrases can only be added after the images have been captured.  Instagram is testing a **new archival feature** in select markets, and yes, the feature is available on some accounts in India. The option is appearing to some users in the “…” menu. According to a report in The Verge, Instagram is only testing the feature. The feature is designed to prevent users from deleting old and unflattering photos. Over the course of Instagram’s existence, both technology and the features of the platform have been updated substantially, and the older content in people’s feeds may not be up to the mark as the newer content. Users can look through their archived content, and restore images back to the profile.
