Infosys CEO Vishal Sikka gifted 3,000 Apple iPhone 6 handsets to 3,000 top performing employees as a token of appreciation. The gift was sent out along with a mail from Sikka which stated,  “Thinking back on 2014 feels good, doesn’t it? There was so much you wanted to accomplish with seemingly so little time to do it all. Now, as you stand on the brink of the New Year and look back, there is the satisfying realization that a great part of it actually got done.” as reported by Times of India . This gesture had taken Infosys staff by surprise. The report also stated that one employee had said that they had not been indulged in this manner before. The company, which has 1.65 lakh employees, has been taking a number of steps to bring attrition down, including through quarterly promotions, conversion of variable pay to fixed pay, and involvement of employees in decision-making. Earlier, Infosys had reported a 13 percent rise in its net profit for the third quarter ended December 31, 2014 at Rs 3250 crore against consensus estimates of Rs 3,153 crore as it won more outsourcing contracts from Western clients. The company’s stock shot up 5 percent as Infosys maintained its full year revenue guidance for FY15 at 7-9 percent.

Vishal Sikka took over as a whole time director of the board and Infosys CEO and MD on 1st August 2014.
