InFocus, an American company that's established something of a foothold in India is gearing up to launch a line-up of 50-inch LED TVs. InFocus gained a degree of popularity with their budget-friendly smartphones.
In collaboration with Snapdeal, InFocus hope to not only launch TVs, but to also launch a service that would provide a "Free Demo at Home". They claim they're doing this to revolutionise the online shopping experience. The TVs, like the phones, will be manufactured by Foxconn.
Sachin Thapar, Country had, InFocus India said, "We have used the best display panels in our LED TVs; which ensures that the viewing experience is at par with what any global player can offer, in this category. In fact our 60-inch Full HD LED TV comes with Japan-Made Sharp panel." Sharp, which was recently acquired by Foxconn, is known for producing world class panels.
The free home demos that InFocus hopes to provide will be made possible via their collaboration with Snapdeal. "To enhance the purchase experience for our customers, we are piloting this home demo service across 18 key cities in India", Said Tony Navin, SVP - Partnerships & Strategic Initiatives, Snapdeal. 60-inch panels will also be made available.
The InFocus TVs will feature a Smart UV2A technology that apparently eliminates light leakage and reduces reflections while "balancing brightness."
The 60-inch TVs will offer a 10-bit colour palette while the 50-inch ones will offer an 8-bit one. The TVs will be available in the 24-inch to the 60-inch range and feature Full HD (1080p) panels.
Pricing will be as follows:
InFocus 24-inch HD LED TV – Rs 9,999
InFocus 32-inch HD LED TV – Rs 15,999
InFocus 50-inch Full HD LED TV – Rs 34,999
InFocus 60-inch Full HD LED TV – Rs 69,999
