Infinity Blade for the iOS to get More Weapons

Infinity Blade has taken the iTunes Store by storm. In just about four days, we heard the game generated about $1.6 million becoming the “ fastest grossing app” ever in the app store. In case you are still busy twiddling thumbs, trying to hit a bunch of no-good pigs, take a 2-minute break to check out the beautiful visuals that are on offer in Infinity Blade.

The game will cost you $5.99 on the iTunes store, but you can get a feel of the game by downloading Epic Citadel. It’s a free tech demo released by Epic that lets you roam around the same environment without fighting anyone, which is what usually happens in a Tech demo. This, by the way, is the same demo through which Epic Games showcased their Unreal Engine for the iOS.

Ha! Parrying is sooo easy…

Infinity Blade is not just about visuals though; the gameplay involves fast paced action and will test your swordsmanship. As far as the plot’s concerned, it’s a relatively simple one where players wander around a kingdom and save its people by annihilating the cruel ruler and his evil forces. Now this evil ruler is not your everyday boss, where finishing him boils down to simple button mashing and a bit of clever blocking. God King (as he is known) will eat through your generations until you upgrade your arsenal significantly. Approaching him otherwise will lead to an immediate and painful death.

After seeing how well the game’s performed, Epic Games have decided to shower the community with more weapons & armor, which will be followed by a multiplayer update next month. This update will include five swords, shields and helmets. The level cap will also be upped by 5 and so will the number of enemies. And the icing on this cake is that all these updates are free!
