At Apple’s iPhone event, developer Chair Entertainment (one of the studios under Epic Games) unveiled a sequel to its popular hack-and-slash series Infinity Blade. Titled Infinity Blade 3, the game will be hitting the iOS App Store on September 18—two days before the launch of the newly unveiled iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C. According to Chair, Infinity Blade III leverages the power of Apple’s new A7 chip which has 64-bit architecture and OpenGL ES 3.0.

As is usual for the series, Infinity Blade 3 will be powered by the Unreal Engine. The game will be the last one in the Infinity Blade trilogy, and Chair promises that it’ll be an emotional rollercoaster featuring honour, love, betrayal and redemption.

This time around, there will be two playable characters—series protagonist Siris and stealthy female warrior-thief Isa—each with unique fighting styles and hundreds of collectable weapons and items. Another major new addition for the series is the Hideout, which will act as the “home base” where the characters will chill out as they recruit new allies and go further into the story.

Gameplay doesn’t seem to be seeing much of a change. Players will fight enemies in one-on-one combat as they dodge attacks, time attacks and cast magic. There will be eight new worlds to explore. The focus of the game this time around is to have large expansive maps that players can explore.

ClashMob challenges are also back with three new modes inviting gamers from around the globe to team up for unique “massively social,” group-based challenges to unlock rare treasures and earn exclusive items.

Infinity Blade III features the dramatic new animated short, Infinity Blade: Origins, created by award-winning director Ben Hibon (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1, Mirror Mirror) and featuring actor John Noble (The Lord of the Rings, Fringe) as The Worker of Secrets.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
