Despite the cancellation of hack-and-slash dungeon crawler Infinity Blade: Dungeons, the franchise may not be out yet. According to the LinkedIn resume of a staff member of developer Chair, there is an Infinity Blade 3 in the works. The staffer, being the Senior QA Tester at Chair, has noted that he is working on “Infinity Blade 3 for the iPhone.”
The first Infinity Blade game has proven to be publisher Epic’s most profitable franchise so far in terms of man years invested compared with revenue. The game has made the company more than $30 million in the first year of the game’s launch.

The cancelled Infinity Blade: Dungeons was slated to run on Unreal Engine 3, but a couple of months ago, Epic closed the shutters on developer Impossible Games and cancelled the game.
Earlier, Chair’s studio chief Donald Mustard had expressed interest in developing more games in the Infinity Blade franchise. “There’s more we at Chair are totally planning to do in the Infinity Blade universe,” he told Eurogamer. “More games, more books, maybe even other products. And we are very excited about that.”
Infinity Blade is a series of hack-and-slash games for iOS devices with a heavy focus on narrative and graphics. The games have been noted for being some of the best looking titles on smartphones. There are two games in the franchise, with the second game picking up the plot some time after the end of the first game. Both games are currently available on the iTunes App Store.
