The PlayStation Vita is apparently getting building and exploration-based game Terraria. According to Videogamer , an ad for the PS Vita featured in a recent issue of MCV points to a December release window. While it was only hinted at in the ad, publisher 505 Games confirmed to Eurogamer that the game is indeed making its way to the handheld console in December.

Terraria is an indie sandbox adventure game with an emphasis on crafting and exploration. While some similarities can be made between it and Minecraft, the former has more structure than the latter. Minecraft is more based on exploration and creation, whereas Terraria has a focus on combat. It has a structured progression system where players can craft weapons and armour with enchantments, and use them against the big boss fights.

It is worth noting that Terraria was originally built from the ground up to focus on co-op play, rather than solo play. It has a robust system where many gamers can play in the same world, explore and hunt boss monsters together. Since its original launch on PC and subsequent console versions, the game has been critically acclaimed for its simple pixel-art graphics style and deep gameplay.

Developer Andrew “Redigit” Spinks of studio Re-Logic had revealed back in October that he is working on a sequel to Terraria . It will apparently be much bigger than the first game and will have a wider variety of gameplay. It might also feature an infinite world. Sadly enough, Terraria 2 is still some time away. The game has been in the planning stages for some time, and the developer has been busy supporting Terraria with new content, such as the recent 1.2 update which added more content than the game had at launch.

Ever heard of one of those people who just never seem to shut up about something? Shunal is like the nerd equivalent of that guy. Believe us when we say that he can go on talking about games and smartphones for hours on end. We do manage to find some insight in his insane ramblings though, and through his moronic facade, he does seem to know more than he lets on. Sadly enough, it always ends up being about gaming with him. Or stupid, stupid puns. see more
