Microsoft might have officially revealed the Xbox One’s price and release date for fans in the US, but India fans will have to wait long for the release.

Microsoft might have officially revealed the Xbox One’s price and release date for fans in the US, but Indian fans will have to wait long for the release.

According to a report in the Wall Street Journal the new console will only come to Asia in late 2014. The report quotes, Alan Bowman, Microsoft’s regional vice president for sales and marketing in Asia, as saying that the company was working on ensuring a “great experience for customers” in the region, including offering localized content.

The new device will only be available in select Asian markets - Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, South Korea and India, adds the report.

The Xbox One is priced at $499 which in current currency rates comes to Rs 29, 263, but with taxes expect the Xbox One to cost more between Rs 35,000 and higher.

The Sony PS4 which was was finally revealed today at the E3 is priced at $399, which comes to Rs 23,000 when converted. With taxes this could go up to Rs 25k and higher. No word on when the PS4 comes to India but hopefully it should come before 2014.
