There is another entrant in the selfie-focused smartphone market. Archos has announced the 55 Diamond Selfie at EUR 199.99 that translates to approximately Rs 15,000, which will be available via the company’s official website.
The 55 Diamond Selfie doesn’t actually have diamonds but it does feature 4GB of RAM and 64GB onboard storage. There is also a lite version that comes equipped with 3GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage. The lite variant is expected to hit store shelves in October.
The smartphone sports a 5.5-inch full HD display with Dragontrail glass on the front and back. Under the hood, it comes with a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 (MSM8937) processor and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The connectivity options include 4G LTE, 3G, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n. On the camera front, one will find a 16MP rear snapper and an 8MP front-facing snapper. It also comes with a screen flash feature.
A 3000mAh battery with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge technology completes the package.
The smartphone is being showcased at the ongoing IFA in Berlin. The company had also showcased the Archos Diamond 2 Note earlier this year at the MWC 2016.
