In the past, we’ve seen several powerful gaming laptops relying on fan-cooling, but Asus has unveiled the new ROG GX700 at IFA featuring water cooling, something that is unheard of regarding gaming laptops. The Asus GX700 sports a 17-inch 4K display and houses Intel’s quad-core K-series Skylake processor that can be overclocked. It is also said to come with Nvidia GeForce GTX graphics card. The highlight is the ‘bulky’ water cooling system with a pump and radiator that docks into the flagship gaming laptop. “The water cooler hardware must be that junk in the trunk—the gigantic bulbous butt—that sticks out the rear. Yes, yes, I’m sure you’re wondering on what planet this qualifies as a “laptop” but I’m going to imagine that Asus has rigged some clever way for it to dock and undock. When on the road, you run at normal speeds, but once home, you dock your GX700, the flood gates open and you kick the GPU and CPU into overclocked heaven,” points out PCWorld. Not much is known about the gaming system, and concrete details are likely to be out during its release sometime end of this year.
