IFA 2015: Asus launches aggressively priced ZenWatch 2

The wearables segment seems to be gaining significant amount of interest. After Android Wear was opened up for iOS , and Samsung announced a new smartwatch with a circular dial, Asus has revealed the Asus Zenwatch 2 at IFA 2015, Berlin. The Zenwatch 2 is available in two models – 49 mm with a 1.6 inch display, and 45 mm with a 1.45 inch display. Asus has announced that the 49 mm model will be priced at approximately $170. Similarly, the 45 mm model will be priced at $190. At current conversion rates, this works out to Rs 11250 and Rs 12500 for the 45 mm and 49 mm model, respectively. According to The Verge , “The ZenWatch 2 will be offered in a choice of silver, gunmetal, or rose gold cases, and there’ll be a variety of straps to choose from and interchange — the larger model is compatible with 22mm straps while the smaller one will fit 18mm straps. Asus will also include its own exclusive watch faces and a customizaton tool to help your create your own. The Taiwanese company says the ZenWatch 2 will be available across the world from the start of October, but is only revealing its European pricing for now.” At Computex 2015, Asus announced the ZenWatch 2, a wearable device powered by Android Wear and produced in partnership with Google. The smartwatch will come in two sizes with different models namely ZenWatch 2 (WI501Q), and ZenWatch 2 (WI502Q). They feature an interchangeable 22mm strap and an 18mm strap, respectively. The ZenWatch 2 works with the next-gen Wellness smartphone app to provide a comprehensive solution for fitness and wellness.
