IFA 2012: HTC officially unveils Desire X

A handset that has been making multiple appearances over the last few weeks has been finally unveiled. HTC has officially unveiled the Desire X Android 4.0 smartphone at the IFA 2012 event in Berlin. This smartphone had originally gone under the codename HTC proto and since the name first popped up, there had been various leaks indicating that the launch was just around the corner.

HTC has announced this mid-range smartphone right on cue and claims that the Desire X is an affordable smartphone that delivers a state of the art camera, stunning sound and incredible processing power and speed. Like most of the recent smartphones to come out of HTC’s stable, this model too comes equipped with Beats Audio Technology on board.

It not only looks and sounds great, but also provides a super-fast, highly personal mobile experience at a great price.”

The brand lists this handset as having an iconic design and claims that it can withstand everyday life as well as keeping its form factor slim and compact. The HTC Desire X comes equipped with Android 4.0 layered with HTC Sense on top. HTC says that 4-inch super LCD WVGA screen on the HTC Desire X with increased viewing angle also means that everything will appear in vivid colour and clarity. Apart from the Beats Audio Technology loaded in this smartphone, the Desire X also comes equipped with a dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4T processor and social features that enable you to stay connected.

HTC claims that the camera used here is state of the art and it is ideal for point and shoot photography,as the 5 megapixel camera on the HTC Desire X takes great photographs even in challenging low-light conditions, thanks to the brand’s proprietary ImageChip, a f/2.0, 28mm wide-angle lens, BSI sensor, HDR mode and automatic adjustable flash. You won’t need to choose between video or photos again when capturing content ; with VideoPic you can to take video and stills at the same time. This smartphone can even record the most fleeting of moments with fast activation (within 1 second) and auto focus with a feature called Always Focus. One-press Continuous Shooting allows a user to capture multiple photos of fast-paced action.

The brand has taken storage and sharing as well into consideration here and states that with a single touch, you can instantly share content with your friends and family via email, text or social networks. For storage, HTC has integrated Dropbox in the Desire X with 25GB of free online storage for two years.
