iBall launches Andi 2G Velvet, 3G Gem budget droids starting at Rs 4449

iBall has launched two new smartphones in its Andi series dubbed 2G Velvet and 3G Gem. The Andi 2G Velvet is now available for a best buy price of Rs 4,449, the Andi 3G Gem is priced at Rs 4,999. Both devices come with a similar set of features, and the only distinguishing factor is support for 2G and 3G, as their names suggest.   Both the Velvet and Gem sport a 4-inch IPS 800 x 480 display. Under the hood, these devices are powered by a 1.3GHz Cortex A7 dual-core processor coupled with 256MB RAM. The chipset isn’t specified. On the camera front, both Velvet and Gem come with 5-megapixel camera with LED flash. It also gets a front-facing camera for video calling and selfies, assuming it should be VGA.   It has 2GB internal storage, out of which 1GB is utilized for the OS and apps. iBall has added a microSD card slot in both devices, that expands the storage space u to 32GB. Both devices are also fuelled by 4.2.2 Jelly Bean mobile OS. The connectivity options include GPS with AGPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The Velvet supports 2G, while the Gem has 3G capabilities.   Both are dual SIM devices with support for dual standby. One will also find support for FM radio, auto call recording feature that records and stores all the conversations. The Andi 2G Velvet and 3G Gem are powered by a 1,300 mAh battery.   Late last month, the company had pulled the wraps off its quad-core  **Slide 3G 7803Q-900 tablet** with voice-calling functionality. Priced at Rs 12,499, it comes with a 7.85-inch TFT display, dual-SIM (GSM+GSM), dual standby, 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera, 2-megapixel front camera and runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean.
