A new Humble Bundle is in town, and this time, it’s going back to its roots of hosting a bunch of indie and/or niche games. Dubbed the Humble Indie Bundle 9 , the bundle features Trine 2: Complete Story, Mark of the Ninja, Eets Munchies Beta and Brutal Legend. Paying higher than the average for the pay-what-you-want bundle will net you FTL: Faster Than Light and Fez.
Interestingly, the bundle also marks the first time Polytron’s critically acclaimed side-scrolling puzzler Fez is coming to Mac and Linux. At the time of publishing, the bundle sits on a bit over $1 million. The average currently sits at $4.54 (Rs 287 approx).
Trine 2 is a side-scrolling action adventure game that is based around being able to play co-operatively with up to two more people. In it, players take on the roles of a wizard, an archer and a warrior as they go through levels killing things and solving puzzles.
Mark of the Ninja is a side-scrolling stealth game from Klei Entertainment—the makers of the Kill Bill-esque action game Shank. It has been widely praised for its tight stealth gameplay and the plethora of tools it gives players to take on any situation.
Eets Munchies is the next game by Klei Entertainment and is making its debut as a beta in the new Humble Bundle. In true Klei fashion, it features gorgeous art and animation, and is a puzzle game aimed at the whole family, so it will undoubtedly be more family-friendly in its aesthetics than Klei’s previous offerings (Shank, Mark of the Ninja and Don’t Starve).
Brutal Legend is a love letter to heavy metal music and culture from Tim Schafer and his studio Double Fine. The 3D action/adventure game features many big names, including Jack Black as the voice actor for the main character. It also features many personalities from the metal culture lending their voices, such as Ozzy Osbourne.
FTL: Faster Than Light is the perfect Captain Kirk simulator. It is a roguelike game in design, where all encounters are randomly generated. In it, players must fly around in space while running from the rebellion as they get better equipment and weaponry from various encounters from all over the galaxy.
Fez is a semi-2D/3D side-scrolling puzzler that focuses on perspective and cryptology for its puzzles. It has been widely praised by critics, many naming it the best indie game of 2012.
As is usual for Humble Indie Bundles, you get both Steam keys as well as DRM-free copies of the games on PC, Linux and Mac. You also get the soundtracks for the games in both MP3 and FLAC formats.
