The next company to manufacturer Google's Nexus smartphone will not be Motorola or LG. According to Gizmochina, Google has tied up with Huawei as the next manufacturer of the Nexus smartphone which will be released in the second half of the year.
Kevin Yang, Director of China Research, iSuppli took to Weibo, a Chinese equivalent of Twitter, confirmed that Huawei will be the next Nexus maker. Details about the device were not mentioned. According to the report, the major reason why Google went with Huawei could be because its the biggest competitor to Xiaomi, as of now. As Huawei has shown great promise in 2014 with releases like the Ascend Mate 7 and Honor 6 Plus, Google hopes that their Nexus devices will be appreciated just like the earlier ones.
An earlier report by Gizmochina had stated that there will be two different Nexus devices this year. One will be made by the chosen Chinese company (which is Huawei) and the other will be made by LG. If this is the case, then its very likely that the one from the Chinese company could be the affordable variant of the phone. Nexus fans may get two phone choices in 2015.
