Looks like Huawei is finally bringing its flagship series to India. Huawei has started sending out mails to media houses about an exciting launch on 17 August. If speculations online are to be believed, it is going to be the launch of the the Huawei P9. So far Huawei has been selling budget to mid-range phones under its Honor sub-brand in India since the last two years. Honor 5C was the last phone from Huawei that was launched in India in April. It looks like the Chinese phone maker is ready to enter the flagship segment in India with its P series smartphone. Launched in China in April this year, the USP of the Huawei P9 is the presence of the dual 12MP camera units on the rear side of the phone with a Leica Summarit lens and 1.25 micron pixel size. Of the two cameras, one camera sensor captures the colour information and the other sensor captures only the black and white and varying levels of gray information. There is no OIS on the phone and it has an 8MP front camera. The Huawei P9 comes with a 5.2-inch FullHD AMOLED display and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. The phone comes with the HiSilicon Kirin 955 SoC which has an octa-core processor. Kirin 955 is a refined version of Kirin 950 and it houses an octa-core processor with one quad-core Cortex A72 cluster clocked at 2.5GHz and the other Cortex A53 quad-core cluster clocked at 1.8GHz. It will come in two variants – the 3GB RAM + 32GB storage and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. Apart from this you get the option to expand the storage by adding in a microSD card as well. It will come with 3,000 mAh battery and a USB Type-C connector.
