Huawei MediaPad 10 FHD tablet launch in China in August; priced 3000 yuan

Huawei’s quad-core tablet MediaPad 10 FHD is expected to be listed in late August in China. As per a literal translation off a Chinese website, xinmin.cn it will be listed with a starting price of 3000 yuan. With this timeline, we could expect its launch in India in September.

Huawei’s MediaPad 10 FHD quad-core ICS tablet had made its presence first felt at the Mobile World Congress earlier this year. The FHD stands for Full HD as the tablet boasts of an incredible resolution of 1920 x 1080. It is powered by Huawei’s very own K3 quad-core processor that the company claims is the fastest on the block, even quicker than the much hyped Nvidia Tegra 3. Besides, it’s also said to be a lot more frugal in terms of power consumption. Due to the smaller size of Huawei’s chip, the CPU is clocked at a tantalizing 1.5GHz, which should handle Android 4.0 OS without breaking into a sweat.

Besides this number crunching capability, the MediaPad FHD also supports high speed wireless communication at upto 84 Mbps (HSPA+) as well as LTE. The Full HD panel is an IPS display that gives you accurate colour reproduction as well as better viewing angles. The tablet also features Dolby surround sound technology. The tablet is fitted with an 8 MP snapper and a 1.3 MP front facing camera. This is also on one of the few tablets to have 2GB of RAM onboard so performance should never be an issue. The tablet is built using a unibody aluminium chassis, weighing 598g and measuring just 8.8 mm.

Huawei had launched its 7-inch MediaPad in November last year. The 7-inch tablet was powered by Qualcomm’s dual-core 1.2 GHz processor and ran on Android 3.2 Honeycomb. In terms of specs, it offered a 217 ppi IPS screen with a WXGA (1280X800 pixels) display, 1080P full HD playback and SRS enhancements. It also came with a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera and a 5 MP auto focus rear facing camera with HD video recording capabilities. Connectivity options include a 3.5mm jack, HSPA+ 14.4Mbps, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 and Wi-Fi 802.11n.

Huawei recently announced the commercial launch in India of the world’s first plug-and-link data card, the HiLink E303Cs. Powered by a number of patented technologies, the HiLink E303Cs automatically connects users to the Internet in as little as 15 seconds after the datacard is inserted into the USB port, without the need for a tedious dial-in process, driver installation or manual configuration. This is upto 75 percent faster than products currently on the market. The HiLink E303Cs is the first EDGE/ GPRS/ GSM-compatible product in the Huawei HiLink series that supports HSPA+network with 7.2 Mbps Downlink.
