Huawei recently teased its upcoming flagship, the Huawei Mate 10 on Twitter, confirming 16 October as the launch date. A new report now states that the Shenzen-based Chinese smartphone maker may add a Samsung DeX-like dock along with its upcoming flagship.
GizmoChina in a report spoke to the CEO of Miraxess CEO Yanis Anteur where he claimed that Huawei's Mate 10 would likely come with PC-style functionality courtesy of a dock. The dock will allow the smartphone to be connected to a Miracast-supporting display, allowing wireless access to a range of Android applications.
Anteur said, "For now on we recommend to use the Mirabook with the Galaxy S8 for DeX and Windows Phones for Continuum. I also have a secret news for you (sic), the new Huawei smartphones announced on 16 October will have a DeX-like feature and should be compatible with the Mirabook." The report also adds that compatibility with smart TVs will not be an issue for Huawei Mate 10 since Miracast is supported by most smart TVs.
Samsung introduced DeX earlier this year along with its Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus allowing its users to connect their phones to a larger display using a dock.
