Huawei launches 4 new smartphones in India from Rs 6,499 to Rs 17,999

Chinese telecom giant Huawei has just made its biggest push into India with the launch of four smartphones namely, Ascend G700, G610, Y511 and Y320. The four range from the low-end to the mid-range and while the G-series phones are phablets, the Y series phones are of a more manageable size.


The G700 and G610 can be tagged in the “phablet” category while the Ascend Y511 and Y320 are for those who do not prefer gigantic touchscreens. The G700 is priced at Rs 17,999 while the G610 carries price tag of Rs 12,999. The Ascend Y511 and Y320 are priced at Rs 7,499 and Rs 6,499 respectively. They are available through offline as well as popular online retailers.


The Huawei Ascend G700 appears to carry the best specs sheet among the four. It comes with a 5-inch IPS display featuring a 1280x720  resolution. On the camera front, it gets an 8MP rear camera and a 1.3MP front facing camera. The 8GB onboard storage is expandable up to 32GB via microSD card slot. The Ascend G610 also has a 5-inch IPS display but with a lower qHD resolution of 540x960 pixels. It comes with a slightly inferior 5MP camera and gets 4GB onboard storage, along with microSD card slot.

The core hardware and software of both G700 and G610 is same. Both have a 1.2GHz quad core processor, run Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and are fuelled by a 2150mAh battery. The connectivity options include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS with A-GPS. The G700 is available in black while the G610 offers lack as well as white options.


The Huawei Ascend Y511 comes with a 4.5-inch 854 x 480 display, a 3MP rear camera, 0.3MP front-facing camera and 1730mAh battery. It is powered by a dual-core 1.3Ghz MediaTek 6572 processor. The 4GB onboard storage can be expanded up to 32 with a microSD card slot. The device runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and comes dipped in black and white.


Lastly, the Huawei Ascend Y320 features a 4-inch 800 x 480 display. The Y320 is also powered by a dual-core 1.3Ghz processor and packs in a lower 1350mAh battery. One can also expect a 2MP rear camera. Both Y series smartphones support 3G and Wi-Fi connectivity options.
