Huawei has launched the flagship phone in its Honor series - called the Honor 8. This will replace the Honor 7 which was announced last year. It will start selling in China from 19 July onwards and will come in colours such as Pearl White, Sunrise Gold, Midnight Black, Sakura Pink and Sapphire Blue. In terms of pricing, the 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM model will come at CNY 1999 (approx Rs 21,000); the 4GB RAM + 32GB ROM model will cost CNY 2299 (approx Rs 24,000) and the top of the line variant which is 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM will be priced at CNY 2499 (approx Rs 26,000). The Huawei Honor 8 comes with a 5.2-inch full HD display. The stand out feature of the phone is a dual 12MP rear camera setup with an f/2.2 aperture. On the front, you get an 8MP shooter with an f/2.4 aperture. The top variant of the phone as 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There’s a finger print scanner on the rear side of the Honor 8. The Honor 8 comes with a Kirin 950 chipset which has an octa-core processor with a quad-core Cortex A72 cluster clocked at 2.3GHz and a quad-core Cortex A53 cluster clocked at 1.8GHz. The phone comes with a dual SIM configuration supporting 4G LTE. The dual SIM card slot is a hybrid slot. It comes with a 3,000mAh battery which can be charged via a USB Type C port. The phone comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box along with Huawei’s EMUI 4.1 skin atop it.
