Huawei FreeBuds 2 Pro truely wireless earphones launched in China for CNY 999

Huawei claims that the FreeBuds 2 Pro can last up to 2.5 hours on a single charge.

Just as Android smartphone manufacturers were quick on jumping onto the 'notch' bandwagon, the same appears to be happening with Apple's AirPods. The latest entrant into this space is Huawei with its new FreeBuds 2 Pro, which looks exactly like the AirPods.

The Huawei FreeBuds 2 Pro, which supports wireless charging and is equipped with 13 mm drivers, is priced at CNY 999 (approximately Rs 10,400) and is currently available only in China through online retail channels. These wireless earphones come with a case which a charging case which supports wireless charging.

What that means is that, if you do happen to have a Huawei Mate 20 Pro smartphone, you can wireless charge the earphone case by simply placing the case on the back of the phone.

The highlight here, however, is that these earphones output audio through bone conductivity which is actually able to match up the bone sound pattern of whoever is speaking into them. As per a report by XDADevelopers, this, in theory, is similar to Google's voice match feature enabling the FreeBuds 2 Pro to accurately identify who is speaking into them.

The earphones support Bluetooth 5.0 and Huawei claims the earphones can last up to 2.5 hours on a single charge with the included wireless case providing an additional 15 hours of use.

There's no official word yet on whether these will be brought to India anytime soon.
