Huawei files patent for its Pay service in the US, may launch it in December

Huawei plans to unveil its flagship Mate 10 smartphone for the global audience and new information discovered on the US Patent and Trademarks Office shows that the Chinese smartphone maker has filed for a trademark on Huawei Pay. Huawei had  the same trademark filed with the EU a couple of weeks before this. The service however, is currently only available in China. The patent reveals that Huawei mentions magnetically encoded cards, computer software for processing electronic payments  and a authentication software. However this does not necessarily mean that Huawei will definitely launch its payment service. As pointed out by GSMArena patent filing can take upto three months before a trademark is granted. This means that around December this year Huawei, could push out its Pay service in the US If introduced in the US, Huawei Pay will face stiff competition from Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Android Pay. According to  a report  by Venture Beat, Huawei will unveil two variants of the Mate 10 at the launch. The code name of the two upcoming devices by Huawei is ‘Alps’, and ‘Blanc’. The second variant called Mate 10 Pro is expected to pack a ‘Leica’-branded dual camera system with 12 MP lens and 20 MP lens. Both the lenses will come with f/1.6 aperture and optical image stabilisation.
