If reports are to be believed, HTC is working on a new version of its flagship device, One, with an improvement in big improvements in the camera department. The refreshed phone is being tipped for a March release.
Bloomberg reports HTC’s new phone will retain some design elements from the HTC One but will see a significant bump in screen size and specifications. The publication got the information for a company source, who remained unidentified. The phone has been codenamed M8 for now, but there’s no inkling as to what HTC will name the one.
What’s more is that HTC seems to be mulling making a twin-sensor rear camera available on the phone. The twin-sensors on the rear will supposedly provide better focus, a higher image quality and depth of field. The phone will also sport an improved version of HTC’s Ultrapixel camera.
The HTC One successor is set to have a screen size of at least 5-inches, which is larger than predecessor HTC One’s 4.7-inches but considerably smaller than other sibling HTC One Max’s 5.9-inch screen. It will also feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, but details of the model have not been spoken about yet. It could very well turn out to be the Snapdragon 805. Phone Arena , on the other hand, has reported that the phone will house a quad-core 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 CPU. The publication also claims that the phone will run Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. The phone will, however, come with a layer of the company’s Sense 6 UI.
The M8 may also feature a rear fingerprint scanner, quite like the one on HTC’s One Max. The whole show is said to be powered by a 2900mAh battery. The phone may well be released at the MWC next month in Barcelona, but HTC will hopefully drop the moniker One Two , that was once rumoured to be the final name.
