Update: W_e’ve received an official press release from HTC stating that the Wildfire S has now been officially_ launched in India. The official price of the Wildfire S has been set at Rs. 14,700.
Hopefully you haven’t forgotten about the HTC Wildfire S very quickly. Last month there were rumours that the Wildfire S will be launching in a week. It’s well over a few weeks now but there’s still nothing about the smartphone from HTC. However, the handset has appeared on Letsbuy.com.
a tad expensive?!?
The smartphone runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread with the HTC Sense UI on top, but has a processor that clocks a mediocre 600 MHz. The Wildfire S has the regular Google features pre-loaded on the handset like Picasa, Google Talk, YouTube amongst others. The following are the specs of the handset:
- 3.2-inch touchscreen with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels encased in Gorilla Glass
- 3G, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspot
- GPS with A-GPS support
- Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP and EDR
- 5 Megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash and Geo Tagging
- Stereo FM Radio with RDS
- 3.5 mm audio jack
- Memory expandable to 32 GB
The Wildfire S also supports XviD, MP4 and H.264 video format support along with MP3, AAC+ and WAV for audio.
As per the site, the Wildfire S is priced at Rs. 13,999 which seems to be a tad expensive for the kind of specifications it has, but this hasn’t hit stores officially so watch this space for more information of the official launch of the Wildfire S.
