HTC possibly unveiling four handsets at MWC

HTC has been in the news a lot off late and most of the talk surrounding them is in regards to the announcements they have in store for the Mobile World Conference event to be held later this month. The last we heard about them was that the brand had decided to change the name of their upcoming quad-core smartphone from Endeavor to One X. But those of you who may not be familiar with what the HTC Endeavor is, we don’t blame you because it is actually the HTC Edge that was spoken about, since late last year. So now, after HTC has decided to rebrand their handset for the third time, it appears that some other handsets will make their debut at the MWC, under the ‘One’ branding.

A speedy handset coming next year

One X to share the spotlight

As per a report by Pocketlint, sources have informed them that as many as four handsets will be unveiled in Barcelona. These handsets will be called: the One X, which was previously the Endeavor, the One S that was formerly known as Ville, along with the One V and One XL.  Shedding a little light on the last two handsets, the sources have said that the One V will be a music focused device that will feature Beats Audio. Though the specifications are not confirmed, the smartphone is believed to feature Google’s Ice Cream Sandwich upon launch. It will be powered by a 1GHz processor and feature 1GB of RAM. The handset will supposedly have a 3.7-inch display and a 5 Megapixel rear camera that can capture videos at 720p. Judging by these specifications, it appears that HTC is going to put this handset in the mid-range segment.

The last handset mentioned was the HTC One XL, which could also make an appearance at this year’s event, but there are no details of it to go by. Hopefully HTC have a successful showing at the Mobile World Conference 2012 event and they take the wraps off more than three handsets.
