HTC One's sibling spotted: Say hello to the HTC One Mini

As reported earlier, HTC has already launched its flagship smartphone, the HTC One , but was in the process of launching another phone soon, codenamed the M4. Now, according to Engadget  the M4, could in fact be the new HTC One Mini. This is further verified by SlashGear’s report that the One Mini has been certified by the Bluetooth SIG

Along with the news came a few images and some specifications. According to the report, the screen size of the smartphone has been reduced to 4.3-inches. The chances of the One Mini coming to the market with a 1080p Super LCD 3 display, like its bigger brother, is next to nil. As of now, the phone is said to have a 720p resolution.

The One Mini also sports the metallic unibody that HTC introduced with its flagship HTC One, at least from what the screenshots show. Benchmark tests show that the CPU is a 1.4GHz dual-core Snapdragon 400.

HTC One’s younger sibling, the HTC One Mini, may soon be seen in markets around August.

It also seems like the One Mini will be coming with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal memory, according to GSMArena . The One Mini could sport a 3.5mm jack, which in all likelihood, is augmented by Beats Audio sound enhancement, similar to the HTC One.

The reports state that the phone has been seen running Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean along with Sense 5.0 UI. GSMArena says that the One Mini has a 4 MP camera and an LED flash and is to be featured in black and silver as colour options. These details can only be verified after more images or specifications are revealed, or through an official statement from HTC. Currently the rumours point to an August launch date.

Here is a quick look at the specifications that the HTC One Mini may sport:

• 4.3-inch display with 720p resolution
• Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 dual-core processor
• 2GB RAM
• 4.3 UltraPixel camera (same as HTC One)
• Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
• Sense 5.0 UI
