A lot of other HTC mobile phones were found at CTIA this year and the list seems to be growing.
The latest is the HTC Libra, otherwise known as the UTStarcom 5800. The phone offers a form factor similar to the i-mate K-Jam, but the Libra also offers a numeric keypad on the outside in addition to the slide out QWERTY keyboard under it. The phone is also supposed to be smaller than the previous slide out keyboard phones and to accomplish this, the number of rows in the QWERTY keyboard had to be kept to a minimum three, moving the space bar to the right, below the O/P/K/L keys. This might prove a bit uncomfortable, but I guess it’s just a bit longer to get used to.
The phone apparently runs Windows Mobile 5.0. The launch in Q1 2007 will see the CDMA EV-DO Revision A model on the shelves, but a GSM version is also planned in the same year after that. The HTC Libra will also be available as the UTStarcom 5800 and possibly other brand names such as i-mate and O2.
