HTC Vive has just about started selling in the US for $800 and one of the major features of the headset includes the two controllers that bundle with it. To ensure that the gaming crowd is kept happy, HTC is all set to develop its own game for the Vive VR headset, called Front Defense. This game will be demoed at Computex 2016 in Taipei, which will start from 31 May. According to the marketing material, the only thing known about the game is that it is a ‘wartime shooter game’. According to Venture Beat, the game will put players in a battlefield to fight off enemies with multiple weapons. Having tried out the Vive headset ourselves, the weapons superimposed on the controller look quite real when seen through the Vive headset. Apart from games, HTC has also come up with the Vive X fund , which will spend around $100 million on accelerating the work that developers are doing in the VR productivity apps and tools space. This program will start in Beijing, Taipei and San Francisco for startups working in the VR experiences space. This will be the first time that HTC is developing an in-house game, and that too a VR title.
