We would probably lose count if a tab was kept on every time we misplaced our keys, were unable to find our bag or other valuables. There’s a solution for not losing track of these articles, and HTC has it.
The Taiwanese company has put together its resources to help you keep a tab on your valuables using your smartphone. The device, called HTC Fetch, will be able to be your eyes and ears for items such as your car keys and handbags. The device already seems out of the development stage as websites are displaying the Fetch as “coming soon”.

The device is small and compact
Fetch works in a simple way; you can attach HTC Fetch to any of your valuables and pair it over Bluetooth with your smartphone. If and when your attached items go out of the range of your smartphone – 15 metres in this case – you will receive an audible notification, warning you that you may have forgotten or misplaced your valuable.
If the item is outside the audible sound limit, you will be able to see the last known position of the tag and paired phone on Google Maps. You can choose to activate the tone alert manually through the dedicated phone app that comes along with your Fetch. One smartphone will be able to connect with three Fetch tags at a time, so you can probably attach it to items like your keys, wallet and bag – something that you move around and are likely to misplace everyday.

Attach it to your keys or bags and never lose sight of them
Interestingly, Fetch works the other way round too. If your Smartphone is out of range, you can use the HTC device to trigger the camera shutter. The image captured by the misplaced phone will be uploaded online, with the hopes that you can figure out the location of your phone.
The HTC Fetch BL A100 Navigation Tag is already up for pre-order on Clove, UK with a price tag of £29.99 including VAT charges. The Fetch is small and compact and comes with a replaceable CR2032 battery that lasts for about six month. However, the website warns that the pricing and availability has not been confirmed yet.
