HTC Desire VC launched in India for Rs. 21,999

HTC has officially launched its Desire VC smartphone in India, after the smartphone went on sale across online retailers earlier this week. The HTC Desire VC runs Android 4.0 OS (Ice Cream Sandwich) and features HTC Sense 4.0 UI. This dual-SIM smartphone sports a 5MP camera. HTC have launched the smartphone in India in partnership with Tata Docomo. The smartphone comes with  voice and data offers for Tata DOCOMO post-pay and pre-pay CDMA and GSM customers. The smartphone is powered by 1GHz Cortex-A5 processor, and is fuelled by a 1650mAh battery. Among the other specifications of the HTC Desire VC smartphone is a 3.5 mm audio jack and 512MB RAM. It also comes with 25GB free Dropbox storage valid for 2 years. The handset also features Beats Audio. HTC has priced it at an MRP of Rs. 23,300, while the MOP (Best Buy) price would be Rs. 21,999.

Other specifications of the HTC Desire VC include:

  • 4-inch (480 x 800 pixels) capacitive touch screen display
  • GPRS, Wi-Fi
  • GPS / AGPS
  • Bluetooth v4.0, micro-USB
  • 5MP auto focus camera with LED flash
  • 4GB internal memory, expandable memory upto 32GB with microSD

Barring the fact that the HTC Desire VC is a dual-SIM capable smartphone, its specifications are quite similar to that of the HTC Desire V. Late in June this year, HTC’s first dual-SIM ICS phone, the Desire V landed on online retail stores such as Flipkart and went on sale for Rs.21,999. The phone comes bundled with an 8GB microSD card. Some of the Desire V’s highlights include the latest version of Android, Ice Cream Sandwich, a larger battery pack for better battery life, Sense v4.0, Beats Audio and 25GB of free Dropbox storage. The Desire V is quite lighter and has a bigger battery, so it will last longer. It also has more onboard storage for apps.

Late last month, HTC grabbed headlines when it was reported that the HTC Desire HD will not get the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade. The Desire HD, interestingly, had featured on HTC’s 16 devices to receive the ICS update in the future. However, as per the latest confirmation from the company, that isn’t happening. HTC’s other devices slated for ICS update include Droid Incredible 2, HTC Amaze 4G, HTC Desire S, HTC EVO 3D, HTC EVO Design 4G, HTC Incredible S, HTC Sensation, HTC Sensation XL, HTC Sensation 4G, HTC Sensation XE, HTC Raider, HTC Rezound, HTC Rhyme, HTC Thunderbolt, and HTC Vivid.
