The price drop sounds good but it still seems high considering smartphones like the Nexus 6P and Samsung Galaxy S7 are priced lower and are comparably better smartphones than the HTC 10.

HTC 10 gets a price drop of Rs 5000, now available for Rs 47,990

The festive season is bound to see discounts and price drops and Taiwanese smartphone maker HTC has announced that its flagship smartphone, the HTC 10, will now be available at a price of Rs 47,990. The handset was priced at Rs 52,990 at the time of  launch . The price drop sounds good but it still seems high considering smartphones like the Nexus 6P and Samsung Galaxy S7 are priced lower and are comparably better smartphones than the HTC 10. A quick recap of the features and specs, the HTC 10 features a 5.2-inch Super LCD 5 display with a QHD resolution (2560×1440 pixels). Powering the handset is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset paired with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage options. The storage can be expanded up to 2TB, thanks to the microSD card slot. It also packs a 12MP (UltraPixel) camera unit with an f/1.8 aperture, laser AF and OIS along with a dual LED flash. On the front there is a 5MP camera unit that also comes with an f/1.8 aperture, AF, and OIS. HTC’s BoomSound audio tech is still present but now features a dual speaker layout, with a speaker on the front and another on the bottom edge. There is also a DAC present for high quality audio output. Other features include 4G LTE connectivity, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS/A-GPS, USB-C, a 3,000mAH battery with quick charge support and runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
