HP Spectre 13: The world's slimmest laptop can be yours for Rs 1,20,000

HP launched its top of the line Spectre laptop today in India at a special event in NCR


HP launched its top of the line Spectre 13 laptop today in India at a special event in NCR. The laptop made its first appearance back in April where it was unveiled and is already selling in the US.

The company claims that it is the slimmest laptop in the world and at just 11.4mm thickness it definitely beats Apple's MacBook which is 13.2mm thick and even the Lenovo Yoga 900 which is 12.8mm. Made from aluminium and carbon fibre, it is quite light as well weighing at just 1.1kg.

The laptop features a 13.3-inch edge-to-edge display with a full HD resolution and three USB Type-C ports. The base model comes with a 256GB SSD and 8GB RAM combo and you can opt for a 6th-generation Core i5 or Core i7 processor as well. To deal with heating issues in such slim body HP has fitted a heat pipe with two fans which distribute heat away from the processor. In terms of battery you get about 9.5 hours of claimed battery life.

The Spectre 13 was priced at $1099.99 for the Core i5 6200U model (with 256GB SSD) and $1349.99 for the Core i7 6500U model (with 512GB SSD) in the US. In India however, the laptop starts from Rs 1,20,000 and can go up to Rs 1,65,000 depending on the configuration.
